On Saturday, I volunteered with a group of St. Cloud State students at the Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Awards at the beautiful Historic State Theatre in Minneapolis, Minn. The Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences works to honor exceptional work in the television industry, provide professional development and outreach, and nurture the next generation of television professionals (that's me!). I had so much fun helping at the event that evening. I set up silent auction items, greeted nominees and helped them find their seats, helped with paperwork to ensure all award winners received the correct trophy, and actually spent some time on stage presenting the trophies to the winners! I met other college students pursuing work in the field of television and had a wonderful time bonding with my fellow SCSU classmates and UTVS team members! I also reunited with some local industry stars who interviewed me during my year as Miss Minnesota, including Amelia Santaniello and Frank Vascellaero from WCCO News. Someday, maybe I'll get my very own Emmy for the work I do in television...we shall see!
